EBOLARISING

Just as the Liberian national, Patrick Sawyer came into Nigeria with the dreaded Ebola virus, The United States seems to be suffering the same fate, as two health workers have tested positive to the virus after tending to the first Ebola diagnosed patient on U.S soil.

Ebola first came in to the United States through Mr Thomas Eric Duncan, who fell ill upon arrival and had gone to the hospital in Dallas, Texas, he was said to have notified the hospital staffs that he had just flown in from Liberia, but was discharged because his symptoms were not suspicious enough to warrant an admission. He died on October 2nd,  but two nurses who unfortunately tested positive after his demise,  battle it out with the virus. The second health care worker who had contracted the virus while tending to Duncan, had reportedly flown to Cleveland from Dallas on Frontier Airlines flight 1143 the night of Oct. 13, before reporting symptoms, due to the time lapse between the evening flight and first report of illness the following morning, CDC is reaching out to passengers,” the agency said. The plane had 132 passengers.   In Dallas, officials are now monitoring 76 health workers who took care of Duncan or handled his bodily fluids. That’s in addition to the 48 people the patient came into contact with before being isolated. Those people have been monitored for about two weeks.
Ebola has infected about 8,400 people, killing more than 4,400 in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. There is no approved cure, and current treatment involves replacing fluids and using antibiotics to fight off opportunistic infections. WHO in August said it was ethical to use untested experimental drugs on Ebola patients, as the death toll from the epidemic soared over 1,000, the WHO panel unanimously concluded that it is ethical to offer medications to fight the Ebola virus, even if their effectiveness or adverse effects are unknown.
Indications emerging from the stakeholders meeting scheduled to hold in Nigeria on the current efforts that has been put in place to contain the Ebola Virus Disease, shows that the Federal Government may have arrived at local production of vaccines and drugs for the management of EVD.
This is because the drug derived from bitter-kola for the management of EVD has been penciled down for review and discussion.
Already there are two drugs that have been derived from it – GB One and Veron.
The review meeting is convened under the auspices of Treatment Research Group on the EVD

Liberia, one of three countries most affected by the outbreak, said it has 4,900 body bags nationwide.
FIGHTING EBOLA. It needs 85,000 more in the next six months, the Health Ministry said in a statement. A grim inventory of supplies shows body bags were not the only items lacking. Liberia is also experiencing a shortage of other supplies needed to fight the virus, including protective suits, face masks, gloves and goggles.

Now According to THIS DAY Live, two-third of  Americans are suffering from "FEAR-BOLA"  It is said to be hyper contagious and spreaded through conversations, thoughts, listening or just by simply seeing images and videos about Ebola. Americans are clamouring for the ban of international flight inbound/outbound to west african countries, especially countries with high ebola situations, even Donald Trump took the media to voice his stand, calling Mr President a psycho for not initiating the ban yet.

May God help us in bringing a lasting solution to this wild fire virus
